I heard music loudly and understood this as my intuition. The sound of the music that made me take out the punches and drive them into the metal sheets. Individual letters became words. Words that are important to me. Lyrics from the music that inspired me. In that moment I felt authenticity and truth and a connection to material and form. It was important for me to find a niche and use materials, which don’t cost much and might be thrown away or recycled. I chose the metals copper and brass because their effect reminds me of subculture. The surface does not look noble or cheap but special. The use of chemicals and the annealing process unpredictable colouring results from the use of chemicals and annealing. A matter of taste, whichcannot be compared to conventional pieces. For example polished surfaces of gold always seem noble, copper and brass have other other aspects of their own beauty. The colourings represent an individual mixture with a wild and unconventional character. Thiscan also be seen as a unique rancid noble character that combines with the message the brooch carries. This message consists of series of texts that have a philosophical-subcultural subcultural character, which say the beautiful but mean the sad and vice versa.
Ich hörte laut Musik und begriff dies als meine Intuition. Der Sound der Musik war es, der mich dazu brachte, die Schlagstempel herauszuholen und diese in die Bleche zu treiben. Aus einzelnen Buchstaben wurden Worte. Worte, die für mich wichtig sind. Texte aus der Musik, die mich inspirierte. In dem Moment fühlte ich Authentizität und Wahrheit und eine Verbindung zu Material und Form. Mir war es wichtig, eine Nische zu finden und Materialen zu verwenden, welche nicht viel kosten und vielleicht weggeworfen bzw. recycelt werden. Ich habe mich für die Metalle Kupfer und Messing entschieden, weil mich deren Wirkung an Subkultur erinnert. Die Oberfläche wirkt nicht edel oder billig aber speziell. Durch die Verwendung von Chemikalien und durch das Glühen entstehen unvorhersehbare Färbungen. Eine Geschmacksache, die sich nicht an konventionelle Stücke anschließen lässt. Wirken beispielsweise polierte Oberflächen aus Gold immer edel, sind es bei Kupfer und Messing andere Aspekte einer eigenen Schönheit. Die Färbungen stellen eine individuelle Mischung mit einem wilden und unkonventionellen Charakter dar. Dieser kann auch als ein einzigartiger ranzig-edler Charakter betrachtet werden, der sich mit der Message, die die Brosche in sich trägt, verbindet. Diese Message besteht aus Textreihen, die einen philosophisch-subkulturellen Charakter haben, die das Schöne sagen aber das Traurige meinen und ebenso umgekehrt.
